Guernsey on a wet dawn - Photo below was taken from the Control Tower. We would join the Air Traffic boys who would give us a welcome cup of tea after we had brought the newspapers in.

Above: Final approach r/w 27 at Guernsey on a brilliant weather day. Old timers told me that they used the water tower as a visual check in low cloud/fog to line up on the runway before the ILS was installed.
