British United (ex Jersey Airlines) Douglas DC-3 Dakota 6 G-AMYJ

Pickford Airways Miles M57 Aerovan G-AILF. (Later written off in a landing accident at Jersey)

BEA Douglas DC-3 Dakota 3 in the old Keyline colour scheme.

Guernsey & Jersey Airways de Havilland DH-86 G-AENR

BEA Douglas DC-3 Dakota 3 G-AKJH in final colour scheme to be worn by the Pionairs fleet. Later this aircraft went on to serve with Derby Airways / British Midland.

Jersey & Guernsey Airways DH-86s G-ACYR and G-ACZP. Quite a crowd on the observation deck as well as down below.

'Learjet Jolly'

On the evening of 5 August 1992 members of the Guernsey Society of Aviation Enthusiasts were lucky enough to have a pleasure flight over the Channel Islands in Learjet 31A VR-CHJ, the aircraft flew in a racetrack pattern whilst climbing to eventually reach a height of 41'000 feet before making it's descent back to Guernsey/GCI.

On 3 September 1995 I (with other members of the Guernsey Society of Aviation Enthusiasts) was lucky enough to take a pleasure flight in G-AORG de Havilland DH.114 Heron, taking off on Guernsey's runway 27 with a left turn to take us along the south coast of the island followed by two further left turns to take us onto finals back to 27 (I'd made a flight in the same aircraft a few years earlier in 1992 but that time we took a right turn off 27 & routed up the west coast & down the east).

G-STVN Handley Page Herald, operated by Channel Express gets loaded with the days outbound mail. I think back then the mail went to Bournemouth.

 British United Air Ferries

Adrian Moitie submitted this image to the Jersey Airport of Yesteryear Facebook group. It shows G-AMWA Bristol 170 Super Freighter which was operated by British United Air Ferries. The Bristol 170 was prepared for takeoff from Guernsey runway 28. Aviation Safety Network reports - The first officer was flying the aircraft from the left-hand seat. The throttles were opened slowly to full power, to combat the effect of a 17 knots crosswind component. As the plane reached a speed of about 50 knots along the runway, the port engine rpm began to fluctuate and, at a speed of about 80 knots, the takeoff attempt was abandoned. When it became apparent to the crew that the aircraft would overshoot the end of the runway, it was steered to the left to avoid obstructions. The aircraft became airborne for a short distance and ran through the airport boundary fence and across a public highway, coming to rest 1/4 mile from the end of the runway. The below image taken by Colin Smith shows the damage to the aircraft, 3 crew & 1 passenger 'walked away' with minor injuries.
