1970's   ATC
New equipment aimed at giving pilots much-improved landing facilities at Guernsey Airport proved extremely successful. It was operational from 10 December 1975 and showed its benefits to the full extent during a day of poor visibility in January 1976. The landing system is known as the Plessey Plan 17/18 ILS. This system with the GEC approach lighting system, also recently installed, is making life much easier for pilots. (28379314).  On the ramp is a British Airways (BA) V.802 series Viscount.
